There is a large
choice of oak frame garages on the market at the moment from various companies;
most of them are constructed using softwood studwork and weatherboard panels
connected to a minimal oak frame thus resembling a traditional building.
Our garages are built using traditional tenon and mortised joints, 600mm
scarfing joints and jowl dovetail tie beam arrangements all of which are prefit
and draw dowelled. By using these particular methods it means that when the
frame starts to season and move (which is one of the characteristics of oak)
the joints are designed to tighten and use the timber to the framers advantage.
We also offer garages as kits. They are built in our yard and you can come and
see it erected before it is delivered. We can also offer garage fronts in kit
form, ideal for the self-builder or if you want an oak frontage on a brick
garage.
